The first rule of Cedar Point ticket prices is: no one should pay full price.
Like any amusement park, Cedar Point isn’t cheap. But there are ways to save money by doing a little work. And fortunately, Cedar Point seems to offer an endless number of discount programs and special deals to almost anyone.
All-Season Discounts
For starters, there are a few places you should check in order to get easy discounts to the park. These are discounts that run continually throughout Cedar Point’s season.
AAA – You can get discounted tickets at your local automobile club branch.
Credit Unions and Banks offer discounted tickets.
Your employer – many human resource departments at companies of all sizes offer special employee pricing for Cedar Point tickets. This is one of the best places to start your search.
Local parks departments – You can find surprisingly good discounts on Cedar Point tickets that you buy through your local parks departments.
Ohio Lottery – Your non-winning Ohio Lottery ticket (and that means most of them!) saves you money on your ticket purchase.
Pepsi cans – You may be able to find specially-marked Pepsi cans that save you a good chunk off an admission ticket.
Grocery stores – Large grocery chains in Ohio, Michigan and other states offer discounted Cedar Point tickets.
Let’s look at one example: Meijer, a large Midwest grocery chain. When I walk into a Meijer, I see a large display that offers $5 off the admission price of an “anyday” ticket. The display is loaded with Cedar Point tickets that look like gift cards. This is the standard Meijer discount that will run all season long. As the name implies, I can buy the ticket now and use it any day I want.
