After Labor Day, Cedar Point becomes a weekend-only attraction. And for the past 13 years, the park has celebrated “HalloWeekends” during this time period.
Cedar Point transforms itself into a family-friendly Halloween-themed destination during September and October. The park offers more than a dozen HalloWeekends shows and attractions, each one geared to different age groups. These attractions include:
• A Musical Family Parade (held daily at 4 p.m.)
• Haunted Houses
• Children’s Costume Contest
• Scary Outdoor Attractions
In 2009, HalloWeekends ran from September 18 to November 1. That’s seven weekends in total.
Dress for the Weather
Fall weekends in northern Ohio can be cool (or even downright cold), so remember to dress accordingly. Dress as though you are heading to a fall football game, and also remember that clothes choices that work during daylight might not keep you warm once the sun goes down.
HalloWeekends Hours
The operating hours change considerably during HalloWeekends. Let’s look at the 2009 season as an example. Here is a rundown of Cedar Point’s fall operating hours starting September 18, 2009:
Fridays: 6 pm – midnight (please note: on Fridays, the Starlight admission price of $29.99 applies)
Saturdays: Noon – midnight
Sundays*: 11 am – 8 pm
* The lone exception was Sunday, October 11, when the park was open 10 am – 10 pm.
Other Changes
• Sundays: Outdoor haunted attractions are closed on Sundays, with the exception of October 11.
• Closed rides: On Friday evenings, some rides, coasters and attractions are closed.
• HalloWeekend Starlight admission ($29.99) is valid on Fridays after 6 pm, and on Sundays after 4 pm. On Sunday, October 11, Starlight admission is valid at 5 pm.
